Covid-19
We would like to offer you a Covid-19 update and reassure you all that we have taken into consideration all recommended guidance from state/local health officials.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to assess their own risk tolerance and make the decision that is best for themselves when it comes to attending a wedding ceremony and/or a wedding reception.
Furthermore, it's important to know that we are taking additional precautions right now to help prevent the spread of disease whether it be the flu, common colds, or the Covid-19 virus.
We are:
● Following all governmental mandates.
● Asking all vendors to follow all governmental mandates.
● Requiring the wearing of a facial mask for all Steel Barn staff, unless that staff has a medical condition that exempts them from wearing a facial mask.
● Asking all vendors to wear a facial mask, unless the vendor has a medical condition that exempts them from wearing a facial mask.
● Asking all guests to wear a facial mask, unless the guest has a medical condition that exempts them from wearing a facial mask.
● Posting signs related to health and safety during the pandemic.
● Offering hand sanitizer and complimentary mask stations in several locations.
● Suggesting that our couples consider check-in stations/temperature check/health assessments for all guests.
● Our couples may like to consider color-coded wrist bands for all guests: Green: Okay with high fives and hugs, Yellow: Okay with talking but at a 6-foot distance, Red: Keeping to myself.
● Suggesting that our couples consider asking the DJ to make announcements related to CDC guidelines related to Covid-19, social distancing, and local/state mandates.
● Increasing our stock of toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, disinfectant, rubber gloves, etc.
● Increasing the frequency and thoroughness of cleans between and during all events.
● Additional preventative routines for venue staff during events: wipe down each chair, stair rails, door handles, etc.
● We are also encouraging more frequent hand washing by staff members.
● And (as always!) we will ask any staff members who are ill (for any reason) to stay home.
● Fresh air is readily available as we have double doors that can remain open, our venue and our grounds are large giving everyone the opportunity to spread out.
**In addition, under the guidance of our local health department:
● If you have tested positive for Covid you will need to quarantine for 14 days and be symptom-free (without medication) for 24 hour prior to attending an event.
● If you live with someone who has tested positive for Covid or you have been exposed (at a distance of less than 6-feet for 15 minutes or more) to someone who tested positive you will need to isolate/quarantine for 14 days and be symptom-free (without medication) for 24 hours prior to attending an event.
A little common sense goes a long way folks! Therefore, I will take this opportunity to reiterate some (general) health guidelines to follow that make sense both right now and in any situation where people gather during cold/flu season:
● Please stay home if you are ill.
● Wash your hands... a lot (while humming the “Happy Birthday” song twice--that's about 20 seconds long.
● Keep your fingers out of your nose, mouth, eyes.
● Cover your cough/sneezes.
Again, everyone has a choice to attend a wedding just like you have the daily choice to attend other gatherings whether that be at a church, the shopping mall, the grocery store, or a restaurant.
We promise to continue to keep a careful watch on all federal, state, and local health advisories to determine the safest course of action for everyone who enters our venue and keep our couples updated of any changes.
Thank you!
